Description
PAM provides base maintenance services exclusively to the Ryanair Group across Europe. We are seeking a Safety Engineer to join our Shannon site. This role supports the PAM Safety Manager in ensuring compliance with EASA/UK CAA requirements and promoting a strong safety culture across the organisation. The ideal candidate may be early career or experienced, what matters most is strong analytical ability, good communication skills, and a genuine interest in aviation safety.
Key Responsibilities
You will play a central role in maintaining and improving the Safety Management System (SMS), including:
Safety Reporting & Investigations
- Manage the safety reporting system and support staff in the reporting process.
- Conduct and follow up on occurrence investigations in line with Just Culture principles.
- Identify hazards, support risk assessments, and track the implementation of risk mitigation actions.
Regulatory Interface
- Submit mandatory occurrence reports to relevant authorities (EASA/UK CAA).
- Assist with communication on safety matters with internal and external stakeholders.
Safety Performance & Data
- Track Safety Performance Indicators (SPI) and Safety Performance Targets (SPT).
- Prepare safety information and reports for Safety Review Board and Safety Action Group meetings.
Collaboration
- Work closely with Maintenance, Compliance Monitoring, Technical Standards and other departments to support continuous improvement and safe operations.

Essential
- Engineering or technically related degree or experience as an aircraft technician/maintenance engineer related degree
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and confident communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Good command of written and spoken English.
- Valid passport with unrestricted travel rights within the UK/EU and a valid driver’s licence.
Desirable (Training Can Be Provided)
- Knowledge of aviation safety standards and safety investigation methods.
- Basic understanding of EASA/UK CAA regulations.
- Familiarity with Safety Management System (SMS) principles.
- Experience with root cause analysis.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques.
- Hold (or able to obtain) airport security clearance.
- Willingness to travel up to 15% within the Ryanair Group.
