Ryanair Labs are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!

Ryanair Labs is the technology brand of Ryanair. Labs is a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creating Europe's Leading Travel Experience for our customers.

The role sits inside the BI team in Ryanair Labs. The BI team are made up of 95+ people split across the three Ryanair offices: Dublin, Madrid & Wroclaw. Within the BI team there is a range of different professions: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Optimization Engineers, Data Modellers, BI Analysts, BI Reporters & BI Developers.

The Role:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced pricing models and algorithms to optimize pricing strategies across ancillary products.
  • Utilize sophisticated statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyze historical pricing data, forecast demand, and identify pricing opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of pricing performance metrics, including revenue impact, price elasticity, and customer segmentation, to assess the effectiveness of pricing strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members, providing guidance on best practices, analytical methodologies, and data visualization techniques.

Requirements

  • Relevant Degree in field of Data Science (or similar), Masters/PhD preferable.
  • 3+ years professional experience in Data Science positions.
  • The candidate must be commercially astute and be able to recognise the value of projects. Commercial value added is a key component of job performance. Experience working in Commercial department is essential. Experience in product pricing is desirable.
  • Be a self-starter and consistently show initiative & diligence on a daily basis. The team is built up of people who generate ideas and show initiative in the work they do. 
  • Communication skills – most projects involve multiple people across various teams in different departments across the three offices. The role will involve regular presentations.

Tech Requirements:

  • Strong Python experience is a necessity.
  • Comprehensive SQL experience is required. Need to be fluent in writing SQL queries to extract data from Data Warehouses.
  • Ability to build and deploy predictive models. An understanding of and experience with the following is required: Machine Learning topics (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection).
  • Extensive experience with excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to quickly put together slide decks that summarize your analysis, and clearly tell a story. Have expertise in designing a range of styles of slide decks for varying audiences.
