Ryanair are currently recruiting for a Social Media Lead to join Europe's largest airline group

We are looking for a candidate who 'gets it', knows how to make the internet talk, scroll, scream, laugh and occasionally argue - all in our unmistakable tone of voice. You’ll run a team creators, who keep Europe’s largest airline the most talked about brand on social media, every single day.
What you'll do
- Own Ryanair’s social strategy across TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube and whatever new platform Gen Z invents next week.
- Lead and mentor a team to produce fast, funny, fearless content — the stuff people send to their group chats.
- Keep our channels reactive, relevant, and unapologetically Ryanair.
- Manage the content calendar (and tear it up when the internet gives us a better idea).
- Oversee community management and engagement that’s sharp, quick and always in the Ryanair voice.
- Jump on trends, spot cultural moments, and turn them into posts before they go stale.
- Track performance, learn what works, bin what doesn’t, and keep raising the bar.
- Work with PR, Marketing, Customer Comms, CS, Ops and teams right across the business to deliver best in class social campaigns that deliver for the business and our customers.
Requirements
What you bring:
- 5+ years in social media for a big brand or publisher.
- Experience leading a social team, creating standout content daily.
- A deep love for internet culture, meme logic, and fast decision-making.
- Killer copywriting skills — especially the funny, cheeky, slightly risky kind.
- Cool head in moments where the comments get spicy.
- Strong understanding of analytics and platform behaviour.
