Description
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Engineering Purchasing & Materials, this person will manage the sourcing, purchasing, and distribution of all aircraft parts for our fleet of over 600 aircraft. The successful candidate will play an essential role in ensuring we have sufficient parts and materials to support Europe’s largest airline. Duties include Managing the following:
- Purchase of Materials, Tools and Services to support all our AOCs.
- Management of BFE to ensure all parts meet on-dock dates.
- Supporting Heavy Maintenance Materials requirements.
- Supporting Line Maintenance Materials requirements.
- Vendor Management ensuring Suppliers effectively support our operation.
- Preparation and control of Purchasing Budget & CAPEX
- Management of the open PO Book to ensure timely delivery of components.
- Cost control
- Management of the Warranty group
- Management of the Invoicing group
- Contract negotiation.
- AOG and defect control.
- KPI development for Purchasing.
- Simulator & Challenger support.
Requirements
- A relevant qualification at degree level or equivalent.
- Experience in a similar role essential.
- Experience in negotiating at a Senior level.
- Be highly organised and have ability to handle a wide variety of tasks in a highly pressurised environment.
- Excellent numerical ability and contract experience.
- A sound knowledge of computer systems.
- The ability to work on own initiative.
- A mature sense of judgement.
- Proven computer skills and be an effective communicator.
