Description

Ryanair is currently recruiting for an Inflight Planning and Optimisation Manager to join the Inflight Department. Ryanair recently delivered a new industry leading in house built Rostering System that has changed the landscape for operational planning and efficiency. The successful candidate for this role should demonstrate a natural interest and or experience in developing planning processes using systems and technology to scale. This role leverages advanced systems, BI, and process improvements to deliver Ryanair’s industry leading rosters.

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Infight Planning, and will be responsible for:

  • Delivering the end-to-end Crew rostering and planning process, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety, and contractual frameworks.
  • Managing and developing a team of Assistant Managers and Crew Planners.
  • Analysing large datasets to identify trends in utilisation, operational efficiencies and headcount needs; turn insights into action.
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance planning accuracy, Crew satisfaction, and cost efficiency.
  • Continuously improving planning processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing scalable, automated solutions.
  • Collaborating closely with People teams, Operations Control Centre, Training and IT to drive planning efficiency and support operational goals.
  • Ensuring smooth disruption management processes, enabling rapid response to operational changes.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical background, ideally but not essential, in workforce planning, scheduling, or rostering within aviation or a highly regulated, operational environment.
  • Numerically or data driven, with a keen eye for analytics and scenario modelling.
  • Experience identifying, designing and integrating automated scalable solutions to drive optimisation.
  • People management experience with the ability to lead and motivate teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to redesign and optimise processes in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and to work to tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to change quickly in a busy environment.
