Description

Head of Materials Procurement & Warranty: Reporting to the Deputy Director of Engineering Purchasing & Materials, this individual will oversee the management of materials, ensuring the cost-effective and timely supply of parts and services to support the operation. The role encompasses inventory control, procurement, warranty management, and logistics. It involves strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and collaboration with various departments to meet the Ryanair’s operational needs.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the materials department to ensure the timely and efficient supply of parts and services for engineering operations.
  • Develop and implement materials management strategies to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply of parts and services.
  • Resolve operational issues promptly to minimize disruptions to the supply chain.
  • Oversee inventory control to maintain optimal stock levels and minimize costs.
  • Lead procurement activities, including sourcing, negotiating, and contracting with suppliers.
  • Manage warranty processes to ensure timely and effective resolution of claims.
  • Monitor industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to understand material requirements and ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies in all materials activities.
  • Develop and manage the materials budget, tracking expenditures and identifying areas for cost optimization.
  • Lead and mentor the materials team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Implement and maintain effective systems and processes for tracking and managing materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in materials management or procurement preferred, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the aviation industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of materials management processes, supplier management, and contract negotiation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:
