We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Product Manager to join our data team.
The ideal candidate will blend expertise in data, business analysis, and project management to deliver world-class data products.
This role demands a professional who can bridge the gap between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that our data products meet the highest standards of functionality, usability, and impact.
Key Responsibilities
Subject Matter Expertise & Business Analysis
- Act as the primary expert for data products, providing insights and guidance on data‑related issues and opportunities.
- Engage with business stakeholders to identify improvement areas, defining and documenting features, functionality, and requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable data product specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Assess feasibility and implications of proposed solutions by understanding data sources, quality considerations, and technical constraints.
Project Management & Data Communication
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of data product development, from concept to delivery, including project plans, timelines, and milestones.
- Serve as the liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and presenting progress to diverse audiences.
Vendor & Third-Party Management
- Manage relationships, communication, and expectations with third-party vendors to ensure alignment with internal data standards, requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Monitor vendor performance and compliance with data quality, security, governance, and contractual obligations.
Vision and Strategy
- Develop and maintain a strategic vision for data products, aligning with the company’s goals.
- Continuously assess and refine data products to meet evolving business needs and market demands.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a data-focused role, such as Data Product Manager, Business Analyst, or Project Manager.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering data products or projects in a complex business environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong understanding of key data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R; Tableau, Power BI), with the ability to collaborate with technical users.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
