Ryanair Labs are currently recruiting for a Data Scientist to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!

Ryanair Labs is the technology brand of Ryanair. Labs is a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creating Europe's Leading Travel Experience for our customers.

The role sits inside the BI team in Ryanair Labs. The BI team are made up of 95+ people split across the three Ryanair offices: Dublin, Madrid & Wroclaw. Within the BI team there is a range of different professions: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Optimization Engineers, Data Modellers, BI Analysts, BI Reporters & BI Developers.

The Role:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of advanced models and algorithms to optimise pricing strategies, segmentation or forecasting across the business.
  • Work autonomously to scope and deliver analysis of  performance metrics, identifying the questions worth answering rather than waiting to be handed them.
  • Apply sophisticated statistical techniques and machine learning algorithms to analyse historical data, forecast demand, and identify pricing and revenue opportunities.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of performance metrics, including revenue impact, price elasticity, and customer segmentation, to assess the effectiveness of strategies and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex analysis into decisions stakeholders can act on.
  • Mentor and collaborate with team members and cross-functional partners, providing guidance on best practices, analytical methodologies, and data visualisation techniques.

Requirements

  • Relevant Degree in field of Data Science (or similar), Masters/PhD preferable.
  • 3+ years professional experience in Data Science positions.
  • The candidate must be commercially astute and be able to recognise the value of projects. Commercial value added is a key component of job performance. Experience working in Commercial department is essential. Experience in product pricing is desirable.
  • Be a self-starter and consistently show initiative & diligence on a daily basis. The team is built up of people who generate ideas and show initiative in the work they do. 
  • Communication skills – most projects involve multiple people across various teams in different departments across the three offices. The role will involve regular presentations.

Tech Requirements:

  • Strong Python and SQL experience is a necessity.
  • Experience with Databricks.
  • Basic knowledge of a cloud provider.
  • Ability to build and deploy predictive models. An understanding of and experience with the following is required: Machine Learning topics (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection).
  • Experience using Gen AI to assist in your day to day tasks.
  • Ability to quickly put together slide decks that summarize your analysis, and clearly tell a story. Have expertise in designing a range of styles of slide decks for varying audiences.
