Description

Ryanair are now hiring for a Head of Line Maintenance to join Europe's Largest Airline Group.

The Head of Line Maintenance will provide senior oversight and governance of all Line Maintenance activity, including work performed by contracted Part 145 organisations, and will act as the nominated person for Ryanair DAC Part 145 Line Maintenance.

This is a senior leadership role critical to maintaining Ryanair’s operational efficiency and safety standards. The Head of Line Maintenance ensures that all aircraft are available, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards while supporting the airline’s cost-driven and high-frequency operational model.

The role includes but is not limited to - 

  • Deputy to Deputy Director of Maintenance
  • Oversight of Line Maintenance operations across internal and contracted organisations
  • Accountability for continued compliance with Part 145 requirements applicable to Line Maintenance activity
  • Maintain the highest standards of airworthiness and safety compliance
  • Assurance of effective control of contracted Line Maintenance providers, including capability, resourcing, and performance
  • Standardisation and governance of Line Maintenance processes and practices
  • Escalation and management of Line Maintenance risks impacting safety, compliance, or operational stability,
  • Acting as the primary regulatory and operational interface for Part 145 Line Maintenance matters
  • Lead and manage all line maintenance operations across Ryanair bases and outstations
  • Ensure maximum aircraft availability and dispatch reliability
  • Oversee daily maintenance activities, defect rectification, and troubleshooting
  • Drive a strong safety culture and operational discipline across all locations
  • Monitor and improve key KPIs:
  • Identify operational risks and implement corrective actions

Requirements

Qualifications

  • EASA Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance License (B1 and/or B2 preferred)
  • Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aviation Management, or related field (desirable)

Experience

  • Proven experience in Line Maintenance, within an airline, CAMO or Part 145 MRO environment.
  • Strong operational understanding of Line Maintenance planning, execution, and CAMO interfaces.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable aviation regulations (Part CAMO, Part M, Part 145) and SMS principles.
  • Experience managing third‑party service providers and remotely leading multi‑site teams.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and decision‑making skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
  • Technical knowledge of Boeing 737/A320/Bombardier Challenger an advantage.
