Description
Ryanair are currently recruiting for a Head of Engine MRO as we plan to establish at least one Engine Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) Facility with capacity to overhaul up to 200 engines annually across CFM56-7B & LEAP-1B engine platforms which will become operational in 2028 and ramp up to capacity across subsequent years.

The Role:
The Head of Engine MRO will report to the Head of Engines within Engineering Technical Services and will be tasked with establishing and leading the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul facility for CFM56
and LEAP engines. This pivotal role involves overseeing the setup, staffing, and operational management of the facility, ensuring it adheres to the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify all tooling and equipment required to support the facility’s operations including Engine Test Cell
- Cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships with suppliers and service providers to ensure the availability of essential equipment, parts and services
- Design and implement efficient process flows to achieve industry-leading turnaround times (TAT) and operational excellence
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust operational procedures and control standards, ensuring strict adherence to aviation regulations and safety standards
- Lead the adoption and integration of cutting-edge technologies and innovative practices to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of MRO operations
- Identify and address all staffing and training needs, collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure the recruitment and development of a highly skilled workforce
- Develop and oversee the facility's budget, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Continuously monitor and report on the performance of the MRO facility, implementing improvements and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Develop and execute long-term strategic plans for the MRO facility, ensuring alignment with Ryanair's overall business objectives and growth strategies
- Champion sustainability initiatives within the MRO facility, focusing on reducing environmental impact and promoting eco-friendly practices
- Identify potential risks and and develop comprehensive mitigation strategies to ensure uninterrupted operations
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft/engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul, with specific experience on CFM56 and LEAP engines. Previous experience in setting up and managing an MRO facility is highly desirable.
